Why book a blood test?
Whether you're looking to check your general health, track hormone changes, explore nutrient status, or monitor how your body responds to sport or lifestyle changes, our blood testing service gives you the data and the guidance to make informed decisions.
Unlike one-size-fits-all blood tests, our service offers:
- A wide range of biomarker panels plus focused profiles for hormones, fertility, allergy, sports performance and overall wellbeing.
- Accredited laboratory analysis with results typically emailed within 24-48 hours.
- Clear reports and explanations of each biomarker, plus professional advice if anything requires attention.
- Flexibility: choose the test panel that fits you, whether in-clinic or home kit.
What you'll learn
- How your body is performing now: liver, kidney, thyroid, iron, nutrient status, cholesterol, glucose, etc.
- Whether your hormones and nutrients are aligned with your lifestyle, goals or age-related changes.
- Early warning signals (where appropriate) so you can act proactively with your doctor or health advisor.
- Clarity. We avoid ambiguous messaging; instead, we focus on what your results mean for you and how you can move forward.
Our Process
1
Booking
- Choose your panel & book by selecting the profile that suits your needs, online or by phone.
- Once your appointment has been booked with us, we appoint a courier to deliver your sample to the lab, order necessary items/materials, and complete all necessary digital processing to make your appointment as swift and carefree as possible.
2
Treatment Session
- Visit our clinic or receive a home kit (finger prick / postal), depending on the option selected.
- At the clinic, during your appointment, we will confirm all details with you before proceeding.
- All samples will be taken during the same appointment.
- If additional tests are requested at the time, we will, of course, do our best to accommodate.
- Treatment times vary depending on the test option booked, but we typically allocate a minimum appointment time of 10 minutes.
- Typically, you can drive or return to normal activity straight away.
3
Lab analysis
Your blood samples are sent to an accredited laboratory, using our courier service, and processed within 48 hours of the samples' arrival; we monitor the chain of custody and courier transport.
4
Results & interpretation
You will receive a full breakdown of your biomarkers via email within 24-48 hours, with an explanation to help you understand what each marker means and what, if anything, you may want to consider next.
If a result falls outside standard ranges, it will be highlighted, and you will be advised on next steps, such as a consultation, GP referral, or lifestyle review.
5
Quote & Plan
- Due to the logistics involved, our blood testing services are paid for upon booking.
- Once you have received your results, if you believe one of our services would complement your health and wellbeing (e.g Vitamin injections), then we can send you a transparent quote of your options.
6
Aftercare & Healing
- Blood testing has very little downtime.
- Gentle aftercare may include slight pressure to/a small plaster over the puncture site, hydration, and rest if needed - the tiny puncture site heals quickly, usually within a day or two.
- It's perfectly normal to see a small bruise or mark, but most clients experience no visible signs after 24 hours.
- All our appointments here at Cambridge Contour Clinic conclude with personalised aftercare advice, tools and products specific to the treatment received.
What to Expect - Your Blood Testing Journey
At Cambridge Contour Clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of blood testing services, from full biomarker testing and close to 300 allergy tests to specific blood tests such as menopause, kidney function, testosterone and fertility. We also offer a wide range of at-home blood testing kits.
Important things to know
A blood test is one piece of your wider health picture. It does not replace a full clinical assessment, GP review, or screening. Some tests may require preparation (e.g., fasting or stopping medication) for accuracy - we'll provide clear instructions.
Results vary by age, sex, medical history, and lab method; however, the interpretation is always contextual. If any result is abnormal or unexpected, you may still require further investigations (you will be advised if that's the case).
Blood Testing Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a GP referral?
No, you can book directly with us. If you have a medical condition or are on multiple medications, we may still recommend you review results with your GP.
How long does it take for results?
Typically, within 24-48 hours of the lab receiving your sample. Some extended panels may take longer.
Do I have to fast?
Some profiles include tests that require fasting; we will let you know which panel(s) have special preparation.
What happens if something is outside the normal range?
Your report will highlight any markers of potential concern and suggest next steps - this may include lifestyle changes, monitoring, or referral to your GP.
Is it expensive?
We offer a range of panels so you can choose according to your needs and budget. A targeted test may cost considerably less than a full biomarker panel.
