Why Fat-dissolving?
Fat-dissolving injections are designed to treat small, localised areas of fat that can be resistant to diet and exercise. They can help refine contours in areas such as under the chin, the flanks, stomach, thighs, or knees - places where fat tends to persist despite healthy habits.
At Cambridge Contour Clinic, all fat-dissolving treatments are specialist-led using CE-marked Aqualyx following a thorough assessment with each plan tailored to the individual, whether we are treating a single area or a combination of areas, followed by evidence-based aftercare to ensure safety, comfort, and predictable results.

What Is Fat dissolving? & how does it work?
An alternative to Liposuction, Aqualyx® is a non-surgical fat-dissolving injection treatment that uses a solution of deoxycholic acid to safely and effectively eliminate small and stubborn pockets of fat.
Aqualyx® is injected into target areas and works by breaking down the cell membrane to liquify fat cells and destroy them permanently. The lipids are then eliminated naturally through the body's lymphatic drainage system.

Fat Dissolving Frequently Asked Questions
How soon will I see results?
You'll see gradual changes over several weeks; most patients need 1–3 sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart.
Is the treatment painful?
There may be some mild discomfort. However, the Aqualyx® injection itself contains a local anaesthetic.
Will fat come back?
Treated fat cells are permanently removed, but remaining fat can grow depending on lifestyle choices. Maintaining a stable weight gives the best long-term results.
Are these injections the same as weight-loss injections?
No. They treat localised pockets of subcutaneous fat; they’re not weight-loss therapy.
Is this safe?
When performed with regulated products by experienced clinicians, risks are reduced. We provide full informed consent, safety review, and aftercare.
Am I suitable for treatment?
Typically, yes, there are very few contraindications for phototherapy; however, our specialists will guide you through any contraindications during your consultation.
